First of all, I think this picture is really lovely. It has a beautiful feel to it, and I think you picked great stock pictures to use.

However, it seems like the images haven't been blended together properly [sorry, I'm not the best at photomanipulation so I can't give a suggestion on how to improve that]. That would be cool if you were deliberately going for a collage-like effect [which I think would suit this picture] but here it just seems a little unfinished.

Your choice of colour palette and you composition are both really nice thought :)

PS Ignore the stars, I'm never quite sure what to do with them.

Two issues here: light logic and perspective.

A rainy day avoids the issue of hard shadows but there is a strong light on the woman's upper body. For the light to fall the way it does, her umbrella would have to be tilted away from the viewer. As it is now, her entire face, and much of her blouse, would be in shadow. There's something a little to modern about the pattern on the umbrella too so swapping it out for another could help you in a couple way.

The other issue is the castle. We are clearly looking up at it, but we aren't looking up at anything else. Those puddles in the road would be streams running downhill. And the photo of the woman isn't an upshot either.

Address those issues and the piece should hang together better. And pay no attention to the star ratings. I just notice the technical stuff but I have to include the stars for dA to accept the critique.

Hope this helps!

This is a lovely work ^.^ The way you blended the two backgrounds together is great, and I love how the lighting highlights the plants; they look like I could reach out and touch them! I agree with FredStesney about the light on her face, and how it wouldn't look that way with the umbrella there. I think if you could find one at a different angle to have it behind her head, it would look more natural. Or you could put a shadow on her face, but that would make her face not stand out, which isn't really what you want for a picture like this. I think the castle in the background could be ever-so-slightly bigger, but that might just be my preference, because I like huge impressive architecture ^.^ I think everything is blended really well into a lovely soft picture.

Thank you! Yes, I had this problem with the face: I don't know if I must darken it or not. :D
